North Dalmatia
Northern Dalmatian Islands are the island of Pag, Island Vir, Island Ugljan, Silba, Dugi Otok, Island Iz, Island Pasman, Island Murter, Island Zirje, and Kornati islands that are group of islands and are also a national park.
In northern Dalmatia are some of the most beautiful Croatian national parks: National Park Kornati, Krka National Park and National Park Paklenica.
National Park Kornati archipelago is made of 140 islands and reefs. Krka National Park is famous for its eponymous river which, apart from natural beauty also offers the possibility of kayaking or rafting. Paklenica National Park is located in the hinterland of Starigrad and is known for its steep canyons.
In addition to national parks there are also two nature parks: Nature park Telascica and Vrana lake. Nature Park Telascica is known place for boaters because it is located in one of the most beautiful bay in the Adriatic. In addition nearby is salt lake, also a natural phenomenon. Vrana lake is largest natural lake in Croatia and ornithological reserve, because it contains more than 200 species of birds.
