Kvarner or Kvarner bay is a bay in the northeastern Adriatic Sea, between Istria and the Croatian coast. The largest islands in the Kvarner Bay are: island Krk, Cres, Losinj and Rab.
Kvarner area is 3582 km2, which is actually 6.3% of Croatian territory. The population is over 300,000 and only half population is in the city of Rijeka with 144 000 inhabitants.
Kvarner is Croatia region that has developed tourism throughout the year. The coastal area of Kvarner is engaged in tourism during the summer season while the mountain part is working in tourism in the winter. Be sure that if you travel to Kvarner in any time of year, events and other activities will not miss.
