Central Dalmatia
Central Dalmatia refers to the part from the Krka River in the north and south of the Makarska Riviera. The most important center of the central Dalmatia is city Split.
The cities of central Dalmatia are: Knin, Drnis, Skradin, Pirovac, Tisno, Vodice, Sibenik, Rogoznica and Primosten.
Islands in central Dalmatia are island Murter and Kornati. Kornati with its 89 islands and islets, are one of the most famous national parks in Croatia. Kornati Islands are very famous destination for sailors as they offer one of the most beautiful and hidden beaches in Croatia.
Cities Split, Sibenik and Vodice have highly developed tourism. They offer accommodation in hotel, bungalow, camp, apartment complexes, private homes, accommodation in apartment or room. In addition to the various categories of accommodation are offered many sports activities on the water or on land, rich cuisine offer and various entertainment facilities and night life.
Central Dalmatia also offers many cultural and historical monuments. The most famous is certainly the Diocletian's Palace which is located in the old town of Split. The palace was built in the 3rd century by Diocletian, in order to spent her age in palace. Since 1979. The Diocletian's Palace is on UNESCO's list of world cultural heritage. Today in the palace during the summer take cultural events from which well known Diocletian night.
